Driving & Cannabis

Of course, there are also very dangerous aspects to driving high, which is why I don't do it unless it's absolutely necessary. One very dangerous effect is that your concentration can sometimes get distracted, especially in busier roads. You might end up staring at a billboard, at the wonderful view or at a pretty girl walking by. You can also get distracted trying to tune the radio, or putting out a cigarette. Driving requires complete concentration, which can be very difficult while high.
Another negative aspect is that a high driver may start to feel dizzy, unco-ordinated or anxious, which can lead to some serious accidents. I also found myself driving through a red light one time - and not even realising it.
Driving high is something you need to learn. You need to know how your mind is being affected and adjust your driving style accordingly. You must also be able to judge when to put those keys away and walk instead. This is not so difficult, as you don't get that false courage that alcohol gives you. If you're too goofed, sit it out or let a sober person drive.
Why drive high?
Well, sometimes you have no choice - you might need to get somewhere unexpectedly. Some folks also get a real kick out of it, or have a toke to make a repetitive commute a little more interesting.
I also heard that having a toke in a moving car is very safe - in the sense that nobody can tell what you're doing, and you can be miles away should they get suspicious.
Well, all I can say is that I defintely wont try driving high. There are lots of other, safer, much more interesting activites. But if I ever get in the situation where I have to drive stoned, I'll be calm, take it easy and remember that those Aussie test subjects drove just fine while stoned.
